PRACTICAL VOCATIONAL TRAINING (ARTICLES)

At Herold Gie we aim to put our candidate attorneys through a rigorous but rewarding rotation program which will see them exposed to a new area of legal practice every four months. Individuals who are innovative and dedicated, and who have a passion for law, will thrive at our firm. We look for individuals who can see themselves pursuing further career opportunities within our firm.

What to expect:

  • First-hand experience of working life at an established law firm
  • Opportunity to work directly with and learn from leading practitioners in a diversity of legal fields
  • Rotations every four months
  • Thorough evaluations and feedback sessions after each rotation
  • Paid study leave, fees covered for board exams and part time LEAD classes
  • Opportunities to attend seminars and workshops to further your legal knowledge.

VACATION PROGRAM

Herold Gie’s vacation program aims to give students a taste of working life at a leading law firm. We have set up a structured week-long program overseen by one of our directors which will help students decide if they want to pursue a career as an attorney. Herold Gie does not expect students to perform difficult legal tasks but is rather looking for students who display a passion for law and an interest in doing articles at a firm such as ours.

What to expect:

  • First-hand experience of doing your vocational training at a leading law firm
  • Daily activities including training sessions, discussion forums, trips to court, and legal research
  • A mock trial at the end of the program affording students the chance to showcase their presentation and legal research skills.

  • Applications for the 2nd 2024 vacation program: 03 – 06 September 2024. Closing date: 16 August 2024.
